First commercial implementation of FourC’s Internet of Things-based transport services solutions signed with Nettbuss

Trondheim/Norway, 17 June 2016 --- Nettbuss is Norway’s largest bus and coach operator with a total fleet of more than 3000 buses and coaches. FourC is glad to announce that we have signed a contract with Nettbuss Travel to implement a range of FourC’s and partners’ in-vehicle services. This is the very first implementation of FourC’s revolutionary IoT-based service platform for public transport.

“We are very pleased with the co-operation with FourC so far”, says Sales Manager in Nettbuss Travel, Ann Mari Bade. “FourC have shown great interest in our requests for e.g. programmatic advertising, and adapted their digital signage service to meet these in short time. We have confidence that this will make Nettbuss Flybussen even more attractive for advertisers and passengers.”

Initially, the Nettbuss project will implement FourC’s Cities in Motion Service Platform, Cities in Motion LiveScreen digital signage and Cities in Motion Passenger WiFi. A long range of services like stop announcements, passenger flow analysis, ticketing and beacon solutions is in the pipeline from FourC and partners. These will be made available to Nettbuss too.

FourC’s Cities in Motion Service Platform makes it possible to combine totally independent applications on a single and standard vehicle computer. The R&D work to develop this platform is part of the OpenSP project (www.opensp.eu) which is part-funded by the Research Council of Norway and Innovation Norway.

The Cities in Motion LiveScreen service is provided in co-operation with another start-up company, Dogu AS. With the help of CiM Service Platform’s advanced virtualization technology, Dogu’s custom digital signage software was converted into a service in less than a week. In co-operation with Trygg Media, Adform and Dogu, programmatic advertising was added to the feature list - a world first for digital signage in public transport.

Installations will be completed during June and July 2016.
