Free Bus Map Service for Norway

Trondheim/Norway, 16 March 2017 --- FourC AS and Mattersoft Ltd have released a public and free map service for public transport buses in Norway. The service aims to include all public transport buses throughout the country on a real time map available on the web (www.busskart.no) and in the new Busskart app.

Initially, buses in the South Trondelag county are included in the service. Data is collected using publicly available sources and presented in an interactive map view.

Unlike other mapping solutions, Busskart’s main use case is to focus on the information that the regular passengers want most frequently in everyday situations. Among these is the ability to see real-time predictions and the actual positions of the buses travelling towards stops.

The solution makes use of Mattersoft’s highly acclaimed real-time prediction engine which is already being used in several cities across Scandinavia.

The app is currently available on Android and Apple iOS. Features for the app solution include adding a personal touch by providing favorite stops and other time-saving features. Both Norwegian and English are available on the web and in the app solution. The web version works with any smartphone.

Other Norwegian buses will be added as data becomes available. During just the first two weeks of uptime, agreements have been made to add Trondheim city airport express buses, the city buses in the town of Levanger and all buses in Rogaland county.

The release of the app was covered by Adresseavisen, the region’s largest newspaper with more than 260.000 readers. (Paid access directly to article.)
